Image to text
Extract printed text from photos with local OCR. Review and export editable text.
Task tips
Choose the matching text language before recognition. Crop out unrelated areas first for better results. Correct names, numbers and punctuation in the editable result before preparing a TXT download.
A complete workflow
Choose the text language, load a tightly cropped image and select Recognize text. Compare the editable result with the source line by line. Correct spelling and numbers, then use Prepare download for TXT or Copy text for another document.
If the result is wrong
If words merge, crop closer to the text and use a sharper source. For mixed languages, test the language covering the important passage. Handwriting and stylized lettering may remain inaccurate; increasing image dimensions cannot recreate missing character detail.
What the export contains
TXT preserves your reviewed characters and line breaks, not the source typography or page layout. OCR software and the selected language data download when recognition starts. A download failure is a connection problem, not evidence that the image contains no text.
